VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Kayak Public Paddle

Registration

Shift 1 (10am-1pm): Deck Hands/Put People in Boats
Should (but not mandatory) have some experience paddling with NBCB. Beginners are welcome. Your feet will get wet.
Shift 1 (10am-1pm): Dock Manager
For Intermediate Members
Shift 1 (10am-1pm): Fit Paddlers with Life Vests
No experience needed. Will provide demo.
Shift 1 (10am-1pm): Floater-store runs, lunch set up, help others when busy
No experience needed.
Shift 1 (10am-1pm): Land Manager
For Intermediate Members
Shift 1 (10am-1pm): Registration Table
No experience needed.
Shift 2 (12:30-3:45pm): Deck Hands/Putting People in boats
Should (but not mandatory) have some experience paddling with NBCB. Beginners are welcome. Your feet will get wet.

For NBCB Intermediate members
Shift 2 (12:30-3:45pm): Fit Paddlers in Life Vests

Hello NBCB friends!

Public Paddles are the heart of North Brooklyn Community Boathouse. A chance to show the community the waters belong to all of us, and a way to help friends and neighbors find joy in paddling.

We are having our first free kayak Public Paddle on Sat June 8th (June 9th is rain-out day), at Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Center, 57-28 2nd St, in Long Island City, Queens.

We are looking for Volunteers to help with:

Registration and getting waivers signed
Fitting paddlers with life vests
Deckhands getting people into boats (you will get wet) (some experience required)
Floaters to do store runs, set up lunch, help others when busy

There will be two volunteer shifts (with an overlap for training).

Shift 1: 10:00am - 1:00pm (includes set up)

Shift 2: 12:30pm - 3:45pm (includes clean up)

Food will be provided at 12:30pm for lunch.
