The NONBKPipeline alliance is planning a big event next Sunday (June 2) to raise awareness on the current National Grid rate case which will make all customers pay $30 extra per month on their bills to increase local fossil fuel infrastructure. This also includes a $350+ million investment in the toxic LNG facility located on the Creek.
While there is a lot happening on land with the event (Full Event Details) there is also an on-water component with the goal of holding large banners from big canoes at the Pulaski and Greenpoint Avenue bridge. We are looking for 4-8 volunteers to help paddle the big voyageur canoes to the locations the banners will be unfurled and photographs taken. If you are also interested in helping to launch the big canoes, please sign up for the ticket type when you register, and plan on arriving at noon. It's in the middle of the day, so bring your preferred sun protection and plenty of water!
