Registration

Shift 1 (10am-1:30pm): Deck Hands/Put People in Boats
Should (but not mandatory) have some experience paddling with NBCB. Beginners are welcome. Your feet will get wet.
Shift 1 (10am-1:30pm): Dock Manager
For Intermediate Members
Shift 1 (10am-1:30pm): Fit Paddlers with Life Vests
No experience needed. Will provide demo.
Shift 1 (10am-1:30pm): Floater-store runs, lunch set up, help others when busy
No experience needed.
Shift 1 (10am-1:30pm): Land Manager
For Intermediate Members
Shift 1 (10am-1:30pm): Registration Table
No experience needed.
Shift 2 (1:00pm-4:30pm): Deck Hands/Putting People in boats

For NBCB Intermediate members
Shift 2 (1:00pm-4:30pm): Fit Paddlers in Life Vests

Hello NBCB friends!

In celebration of City of Water Day on Saturday July 13th, NBCB is offering the public free kayaking at Queens Landing Boathouse in Long Island City, Queens, AND free canoe trips at MASE Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Two events at once means we need a lot of help!

We are looking for Volunteers to help with:

Registration and getting waivers signed
Fitting paddlers with life vests
Deckhands getting people into boats (you will get wet) (some experience required)
Floaters to do store runs, set up lunch, help others when busy

This is the registration to sign up and help at the KAYAK Public Paddle at Queens Landing Boathouse, 57-28 2nd St, in Long Island City, Queens.

There is a separate calendar listing if you wish to help out at the canoe event in Greenpoint.

There will be two volunteer shifts (with an overlap for training).

Shift 1: 10:00am - 1:30pm (includes set up)

Shift 2: 1:00pm - 4:30pm (includes clean up)

Food will be provided at 1:30pm for lunch.

Please note: July 14 is our inclement weather day.
