Canoe Rescues at Bushwick Inlet

Note: This trip is primarily for Canoe Trip Assistants and Trip Leader aspirants, please contact TL's if you are uncertain or are interested in training up.

Safety first! Let's head to relative calm of Bushwick inlet and  and practice some rescues!  We'll go over the basics of how to safely perform a canoe rescue and how to be rescued / reenter the canoe, in the event of a capsize.

We will focus will be on the "Curl" and the "Boat over Boat" (or T) rescues, and a few re-entry techniques.

We will be getting wet.  Please dress for immersion, and we suggest bringing a change of clothes/towel.

Skill level: Intermediate / advanced (see what this means here)

• Slack at 31st St.: 4:12pm ( flood to ebb )
