Watercolor Landscape Bookmarks: An Environmental History of Newtown Creek

Flowing alongside the southern edge of Hunter's Point Park is Newtown Creek. Delve into its serene origins during the era of Lenape Native Americans, the environmental impact of western Europeans, and its bright future. You’ll discover actionable steps to safeguard its promising future.  The beautiful salt marsh restoration will inspire you as artist Monica Schroeder introduces you to Nature Journaling, focusing on landscapes no matter your artistic skill level. All you need is a love of nature and your curiosity.

Materials provided include:

  • watercolors

  • brushes
