ART & SCIENCE: Bird Migration Zine

Join us for a fun and engaging exploration of Birds on the Hunters Point Waterfront—no artistic experience is necessary; just bring your curiosity!

Discover the joy of nature journaling in a zine format while learning about bird migration and how you can help protect these incredible creatures. You may also make a traditional nature journal page.

You'll learn how to cut and fold a single sheet of paper to create an 8 page booklet. Used by artist for one of a kind or small print runs. We'll briefly discuss storyboarding.

Scientific illustrator Monica Schroeder will guide you through folding, cutting, and drawing a nature-themed zine with markers. Come celebrate nature and creativity with us!

Beginners and all levels are welcome. Art supplies will be provided.

After a 10 minute slideshow we'll have the remaining time to focus on art. You'll also have the option to create a Nature Journal page.

Materials provided include:

  • Mixed Media paper
  • Fineline markers

  • Scissors

While the event is primarily aimed at adults, those aged 12 and above are welcome with adult supervision.
