  • Registering as a Kayak Paddler. Make sure you've been assessed for the skill level of this trip before registering.
  • Only select this if you have been assessed as a NBCB Kayak Trip Assistant.

Be on time to learn how our club functions. This trip is for members who want to know or improve how to select a kayak and gear, and how to paddle forward in a sea kayak. Basic stuff. Please fill out our self assessment, so your name will appear on our list of members.
  • Skill level: Beginners
  • Meet:  5:30 PM sharp at Queens Landing Boathouse - Long Island City
  • Launch: 6:15 PM
  • Slack: 6:45 PM Ebb begins 
  • Return and release: 7:00 PM
  • Sunset: 7:07 PM

  • What to wear and bring

Dress to get wet, bring water, a snack, etc.

Avoid jeans or other heavy cotton clothing. Bring dry clothes in case you get wet and we have cool weather in the evening.
