Birdwatching on Newtown Creek

Join us for a fun and educational kayak adventure on Newtown Creek!

It's peak bird migration season. you never know what might discover along with the regular winged residents such as : Blue Heron, Night heron, Great egret, mallards, Crested cormorants and others.

We'll have a few binoculars to share or bring your own.

This is the second environmental education kayak trip of 2024, offering a fantastic opportunity to deepen your understanding of the area’s ecology, history, and wildlife.

This trip is open to **Advanced Beginners and Intermediate paddlers. (**You must have completed at least 2 kayak trips with NBCB and can handle yourself confidently in a decked kayak) This will not be a skills class.

  • Skill level: Advanced Beginner, Intermediate,
  • 6:54 am - Sunrise
  • Meet at 7 am at Queens Landing Boathouse - LIC
  • 7:30 am  Launch to collect sample both at the mouth and further in the Creek .
  • 8:45 - 9:15 am Return & clean up
