If you want to paddle during winter, you need to take this class. You will learn what to wear for cold weather, and how to identify problems such as hypothermia.
At NBCB, wearing a dry suit is mandatory when the water temperature is below 60 degrees.
This class is on-land and free. But if you sign up for a winter trip in the future, there will be a $50/year fee on top of your regular membership to become a winter paddle. NBCB has a few suits to lend members.
