Art/Science Class: Horseshoe Crab Collage

Art/Science Class: Horseshoe Crab Collage!

Did you know Horseshoe crabs have blue blood? Did you know they are medical heroes? Did you know Horseshoe crabs migrate to NYC's Jamaica Bay and Plumb Beach to spawn? If not, join us to learn more about this living fossil that has been around for 400 million years.

15 minute presentation of horseshoe crabs facts, then the rest of the time is dedicated to art. We will collage using books, markers, photo mats, glue, decorative paper, and colored pencils. All supplies are provided or bring your own!

We will be in the backroom or near the kitchen at Queens Landing on Tuesday June 17, from 6:30-8:30 pm. We will also bring food and drinks to share or you can too!

Presented by Mary Lopez (ex-scientist) and Nicole Beall (chemistry teacher) who are part of the Environmental Education Committee sharing Marine Biology facts around NYC's waterways.

Please be on time or email: marymary21229@gmail.com if you are running late!
