Exploring Newtown Creek by Kayak

This trip is for advanced beginner paddlers and up.  You should have experience paddling in a decked boat from our club and feel confident and stable in a decked kayak and confident in your ability to control your boat efficiently.  The focus will not be on instruction on this paddle.

We'll paddle to the end of the Creek (Grand Street Bridge end) and back.  It's about 3 miles each way.  We'll take in the sites and sounds of the Creek and likely see some beautiful birds like herons, egrets,  and maybe even some baby swallows nesting.

We'll paddle back as the sun is setting and watch the sunset from the mouth of the Creek.

Here's a great map of the Creek: https://www.newtowncreekalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Newtown-Creek-1.7.pdf
