Art/Science Class-Learning about the Wildlife of Newtown Creek, with a demo of drawing birds.
Do you know about the vast wildlife of Newtown Creek, despite it being a superfund site? Learn more about birds, mollusks, tunicates and arthropods that inhabits the creek and surrounding areas, with an emphasis of drawing birds.
15 minute presentation of wildlife facts, then the rest of the time is dedicated to art. We will use markers, photo mats, glue, decorative paper, and colored pencils to draw. All supplies are provided or bring your own.
We will be at the Focal Point Bar 43-50 12th St, Long Island City, NY 11101 outside at one of the picnic tables. There are restaurants near the bar or bring food to share.
