This on-land workshop is for kayakers is a great way to explore what is involved.
Part 2 is the on-water session
We’ll cover essential safety and leadership topics including:

Marine radio use and trip planning
“Rules of the Road” for shared waterways
Gear selection and boat fit for diverse paddlers
Risk assessment and on-water rescue considerations
How to prepare before a trip to avoid problems during it
-->You’ll also learn what it means to support a group on the water—from communication and teamwork to situational awareness and sound judgment.
Requirements:
Must be an NBCB-assessed intermediate kayaker
Not required, but preferable: know a t-rescue and eventually get ACA Level 2 certification
