This on-water workshop is for kayakers who are ready to step up as trip assistants. We’ll practice basic  assistant skills.

Please take the on-land class beforehand, if possible.

You’ll also learn what it means to support a group on the water—from communication and teamwork to situational awareness and sound judgment.

Requirements:

  • Must be an NBCB-assessed intermediate kayaker

Let’s make safe, well-supported trips a reality—together.

Taught by Monica & Alyssa

Dress to get wet, bring water, a snack, etc.

Avoid jeans or other heavy cotton clothing. Bring dry clothes in case you get wet and we have cool weather in the evening.
