KAYAK Intermediate: Hallet's Cove

 This is a waitlist-managed trip. Please join the waitlist and we will confirm if you have a place at least several days prior to the trip.

We'll enjoy a morning paddle eastbound on the East River to Hallet's Cove. We will be traveling on the new moon so we will feel the effects of the spring tide. You can read more about spring tides here. Because the current will be moving quickly, we will travel on the East Channel to get to the Cove. 

We'll have time to grab a coffee/food and practice rescues if there is interest. Afterwards, we'll head back to Queen's Landing with the current at our backs. 

To join this trip, you must be listed in our system as having Intermediate skills.

• Meet: 8:15 AM sharp at Queens Landing in LIC, directions are here.
• Launch Kayaks: 8:45 AM
• Slack is 10:45 @ Hell Gate --> Ebb begins
• Return & Release: 12 PM

Dress to get wet and remember to bring a snack and  plenty of water. Please no jeans or other heavy cotton clothing.
