  • I have not yet been rated to stern a tandem canoe by an NBCB trip leader but am an intermediate or advanced paddler with basic stern skills

This trip if for paddlers who want to be assessed sterning a tandem canoe.

This trip is is intended only for paddlers who know/can execute standard canoe stern strokes (J stroke, pry, sweeps, draws) but who have not yet been assessed as official stern paddlers with NBCB.

Paddlers will have the opportunity to demonstrate boat control with experienced bow-paddlers in a paddle to Bushwick Inlet.

This is a wait-list managed trip. Please join the wait-list and we will confirm if you have a place at least several days prior to the trip.

Remember to dress for the conditions, bring something warm, water and a snack.
