It's Manhattanhenge, which only comes twice a year. Let's mark the occasion the way John Randel Jr. may well have imagined it would be celebrated: with a trip around Roosevelt Island. We'll take in the sunset and nod towards the Triborough Bridge, which is turning 90 years young.

It's on the late side for a Saturday paddle, but the forecast shows an overnight low of 76°F, so we should be alright. Bring a light jacket just in case. We'll be launching around high tide, so you may want to wear shoes that can get wet.

Remember to dress for the conditions, bring something warm, water and a snack.
