***Canceled*** | KAYAK: Manhattan Circumnavigation

Paddle 30+ miles all the way around Manhattan, passing 21 bridges, on one of the most iconic kayak trips in New York City. This is a challenging but rewarding full-day adventure that requires advanced paddling skills, strong endurance, and confidence in dynamic water conditions.

This trip falls on a spring tide, which means potentially stronger currents and more pronounced conditions than usual. Expect a faster ride and be prepared for variable water.

Participants should be able to:

  • Be able to maintain a steady paddling pace for up to 4 hours between planned rest stops.

  • Perform a self-rescue and re-enter their kayak in moving water after a capsize.

  • Be comfortable maintaining the group's pace throughout the day, and contributing to a positive, supportive group experience.

This trip is limited to 12 participants. Please register for the waitlist, and trip leaders will confirm that the trip is a good fit based on your recent paddling experience and skills.

Bring plenty of water, a packed lunch, and snacks. We'll stop at least twice along the way to rest and eat.

  • Skill level: advanced (see what this means here)
  • Meet at 7:30 AM
  • Launch: 8:30 AM
  • Return: 6:45 PM & celebrate!
  • Sunset at 6:46 PM
  • Trip leader: Kandice (kandice@nbcboathouse.org)
