  • Registering as a Kayak Paddler. Make sure you've been assessed for the skill level of this trip before registering.
  • Only select this if you have been assessed as a NBCB Kayak Trip Assistant.

All sign-ups go to the waitlist first. Intermediate paddlers will be confirmed after a skills check, if space is available.

City Lights - The Navy Yard Edition

We're heading down to the Navy Yard in a paddling caravan with our upright friends in their Langley Big Canoes. The sun will set. The city lights will twinkle. Fun will be had. We'll head back as two separate groups.

  • Skill level: Intermediate (see what this means here)
  • Meet:  5:45pm at Queens Landing Boathouse - Long Island City
  • Launch:  6:15pm
  • Sunset: 6:41pm, dusk 7:05pm
  • Slack to Flood: 7:21pm @ BB
  • Return  & Release:  8:45pm

  • What to wear and bring

Dress to get wet, bring water, a snack. Evenings are getting chilly, bring extra layers of synthetic clothing, NO COTTON.

stern lights are mandatory (we have them available) and headlamps are strongly encouraged.
