With our new boathouse in the midst of construction, North Brooklyn Community Boathouse is running kayak trips for the public and its members out of Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Center, in Long Island City, Queens.
Our canoe trips will continue to launch from Manhattan Avenue Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
The new season will start once the water temperature hits 60 degrees, most likely in mid-May 2024.
There will be an Open (boat) House for anyone looking for information on all paddling, the boathouse, and how to get on the water. Find out how it works and how to get involved from NBCB members, and the folks at Hunters Point Parks Conservancy.
The Open House runs from 5-7:30pm. Tuesday May 21st.

Explore maps and portage with NBCB member and trip leader Vinny Bonomi as you discover New York wilderness canoe country!
Vinny will highlight single-day and multi-day canoe trips he's taken through the Adirondacks - a protected area in Northern New York spanning over 6 million acres of mountain peaks, lakes, and wild spaces. He'll share his adventures across Saranac, Cranberry, and Tupper Lake, and the natural wonders along the way including High Falls Gorge and Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest.
Vinny's first hand experiences range from stunning sunsets and mountain views, to spotting loons, beavers, and foraging for mushrooms!
The talk will include a brief history of Adirondack State Park, and highlight paddling opportunities in the Empire State. Vinny will run through single-day and multi-day trips planed by local outfitters, including how to trip plan and camping rules.
